The work, in detail.

Every job gets the same treatment: a proper look, a written scope, and a clean site at the end.

Roof Restorations

Ballarat weather is hard on tile. Lichen takes hold, bedding under the ridge caps breaks up, and the roof starts holding water instead of shedding it. A restoration brings a sound roof back rather than replacing it.

  • Roof washed down and cleaned back
  • Ridge capping checked and made good
  • Broken and slipped tiles swapped out
  • An honest call on restore versus replace

Re-Roofing & New Roofs

When a roof is past restoring, it comes off. Back to the battens, new sarking, then a new roof laid over the top, in tile or Colorbond. The house stays protected while the work runs, weather or not.

  • Old roof stripped and taken away
  • Battens checked, sarking laid
  • New concrete tile, terracotta or Colorbond
  • House kept covered through the job

Rooftiling & Ridge Capping

Rooftiling is the specialty, so this is the everyday work: courses set out straight, tiles cut in properly around hips and valleys, and ridge caps bedded so they stay put.

  • Concrete tile and terracotta
  • Tiles cut in around hips and valleys
  • Ridge and hip capping bedded
  • Matching in with your existing roof

Leak Repairs & Roof Repairs

A stain on the ceiling rarely sits under the actual hole. We get up, find where the water is really getting in, and fix that, including the fiddly spots under and around solar panels.

  • Leaks traced back to the source
  • Cracked and slipped tiles replaced
  • Work around and under solar panels
  • Flashings and penetrations made good

Roof Valleys & Flashings

Valleys carry more water than any other part of a roof, so they rust out first, and the tiles have to come up to change them. Replacing them before they go through is a lot cheaper than fixing a ceiling.

  • Rusting valleys replaced
  • Tiles lifted and re-cut to suit
  • Wall and chimney flashings
  • Debris cleared out of the valley run

Box Gutters & Regrades

A box gutter with no fall left in it holds water and eventually finds its way inside. We regrade and rebuild them so the water goes where it is meant to, even in a downpour.

  • Box gutters regraded for proper fall
  • Rusted sections replaced
  • Sumps and outlets sorted out
  • Checked against the surrounding roof

Service questions.

Restore it or replace it?

It depends on what the tiles and the timber underneath are actually like, which is why we get up and look. If a restoration will do the job we will say so, and if it will not, we will show you why rather than just quoting the bigger number.

Can you work around solar panels?

Yes. Leaks near solar are common because the panels sit over the exact tiles that need attention. We work around them where we can, and where panels have to come off we will tell you that up front.

How long will my roof take?

You get a timeframe with the quote and we work to it. Weather moves things in Ballarat, but if rain is coming mid-job we make sure the house is covered before we leave the site.

Can you quote without me being home?

Often, yes. Online estimates are available, so send through photos and the address and we can give you a starting point, then confirm it on site.
